“Making Lipid Control a Global Health Priority”

in FH Europe Foundation

A clear message emerged from all speakers: we already have the evidence, the tools, and the data to improve early diagnosis and management of dyslipidaemia and familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH). What we need now is stronger collaboration, good local implementations, and scalable frameworks that turn knowledge into action.

The discussion highlighted the importance of initiatives such as the EU Safe Hearts plan and the upcoming WHO guidelines on dyslipidaemia, expected in May 2027, as important opportunities to harmonise approaches and strengthen prevention globally.

Speakers also stressed that awareness remains a major challenge, not only among the general population, but also among healthcare professionals. Early detection, appropriate treatment, and tackling misinformation must become part of routine cardiovascular prevention efforts.

Many thanks to the excellent speakers for this important conversation: Kouamivi Agboyibor , Amiee Aloi , Fausto Pinto , Rony Shimony , and Ram Khandelwal 👏
