Dyslipidaemia care @ the WorldHeartSummit 2026

in WHF

What will it take to close the gap in dyslipidaemia care?

At the hashtag#WorldHeartSummit 2026, Kouamivi Agboyibor, Amiee Aloi, Ram Khandelwal, Rony Shimony and WHF Past President Fausto Pinto focused on the global state of dyslipidaemia management, where LDL-C remains a leading driver of ischaemic heart disease, yet diagnosis, treatment, and system capacity gaps continue to limit progress.

Amiee Aloi pointed to progress already underway: “The strong targets of the EU Safe Hearts plan on cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure are an important step forward for tackling the cardiovascular burden in the region.”

Across the discussion, one message was clear: improving lipid management globally will require political access, system strengthening, and coordinated action across health, policy, and economic domains.
